Law Practice

Following his 1978 admission to the Oregon State Bar, Brian prosecuted numerous criminal cases as a Deputy District Attorney for Multnomah County through 1980. From 1980 through 1997, he worked as an associate attorney and later as a partner at Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt and then Hoffman, Hart & Wagner.

Brian’s practice focused on defending insured and self-insured employers in industrial injury and occupational disease cases. From 1998 through 2002, he served as corporate counsel for the region’s largest automobile retailer, resolving employment, consumer protection and business practice issues. Brian joined Sather, Byerly and Holloway in 2002, and became a partner in 2006. He focuses his practice on defending employers and insurers in workers’ compensation, OR-OSHA and employment related matters.

Member of the Oregon State Bar; United States District Court, District of Oregon; Workers’ Compensation and Labor and Employment Sections of the Oregon State Bar; Workers’ Compensation Claims Association; and the Oregon Self-Insurers Association (Board Member).
