Law Practice

Ron was admitted to the Oregon State Bar in 1973. He operated a general law practice in Gresham and Sandy through 1979. He then moved his firm to Bend, where his practice emphasized trials, wills and estate planning, business matters and criminal law through 1982.

He later became Chief Prosecutor for the Attorney Generals office for the Territory of Guam. After returning to Oregon in 1984, Ron was appointed Chief Deputy District Attorney for Lincoln County. He then began his workers’ compensation practice as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Oregon assigned to SAIF Corporation as lead attorney in its Medford office. In 1998, Ron became trial counsel for a workers’ compensation defense firm in Beaverton. He joined Sather, Byerly & Holloway in 2001. Ron focuses on defending insured and self-insured employers in workers’ compensation and employment related matters.

Member of the Oregon State Bar; Guam Bar; United States District Court; United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit; and Workers’ Compensation Section of the Oregon State Bar.
