Law Practice

Deborah was admitted to the Oregon State Bar in 1981 and the Washington State Bar in 1993. She was a partner at Stoel Rives, LLP before forming Sather, Byerly & Holloway, LLP in 1996. Her practice focuses on workers' compensation, OSHA, and insurance defense work with an emphasis in appellate work.

Professional Activities

Member of the Oregon State Bar; Washington State Bar Association; American Bar Association; Multnomah Bar Association; Oregon Self-Insurers Association; Professional Liability Fund Defense Panel; and Washington Self-Insurers Association.

Committee activities include Chair of Oregon State Bar Workers' Compensation Section, 1991-1992; CLE Committee, 1990-1993; Judicial Selection Committee, 1993-1996; and Workers' Compensation 1997 Special Committee for Disclosure Rules.

Deborah is a mediator for the Oregon Appellate Court Settlement Program and a frequent lecturer for the National Business Institute, Lorman Business Center, Inc. and Oregon Law Institute.
